Non-native, medium sized tree that produces a sweet tasting chestnut for consumption by people and wildlife. This tree is very blight resistant, with a low branching, wide spreading growth habit. To ensure proper pollination and yield, plant at least two trees. Intended use is for orchard style plantings. Not a restoration tree. If planted within 300 yards of an American chestnut, hybridization may occur.
